Staff Development supports numerous DDSB employee groups through varied professional development opportunities throughout the year. This includes the organization of Professional Development days, and workshops in the areas of evidence-based instructional strategies, rich curriculum, assessment practices and induction elements specific to the New Teacher Induction Program.
In addition, the staff development department supports individual schools and teachers, to meet their specific needs.
Staff Development Constructively Engages the Community through "Parent Engagement" initiatives including Regional SCC Meetings and the Parents as Partners Symposium. As well, the Parent Involvement Committee meetings are facilitated through Staff Development.
