We invite you to learn more about joining our dynamic team of DDSB Elementary Principals and Elementary Vice Principals.

The DDSB is one of the few school boards in Ontario experiencing growth with more than 70, 000 students, 7, 000 staff and 131 schools and learning centres. We are seeking school administrators who are interested in leading change through quality implementation of our core priorities of: Deepening the Learning; Equity and Diversity; Leveraging Digital and Mental Health and Well-Being using the Coherence Framework drivers of: Focusing Direction; Cultivating Collaborative Cultures; Deepening the Learning and Securing Accountability. A demonstrated strong foundation in the Personal Leadership Resources of the Ontario Leadership Framework is essential for leaders in our schools.

As a school leader, your decision to apply for a position in the DDSB demonstrates your dedication to working collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the success of all students and staff. Moreover, school leaders in the DDSB are supported at every stage of their leadership journey. We offer mentorship networks, professional learning that develops and enhances instructional and operational leadership skills and opportunities to share ideas and offer voice through various committees.

Qualifications:
​• ​Presently employed as fully qualified elementary principals or vice principals;
​• ​Hold current Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification in good standing;
​• Principal’s Qualification Program (PQP) qualifications, and​
​• ​Have a valid criminal reference check.

Successful candidates will display the core leadership competencies developed in the Ontario Leadership Framework (OLF) that have been shown to be effective in improving student achievement and well-being including: Setting Directions, Building Relationships and Developing People, Developing the Organization to Support Desired Practices, Improving the Instructional Program, and Securing Accountability. These core leadership competencies, along with the Personal Leadership Resources articulated in the OLF, will be used by the selection team to develop short lists of candidates to be entered into the formal Elementary Principal and Vice Principal Selection Process.
