The Arts Infused Learning (AIL) Projects are run in partnership with the Ontario Arts Council.
The AIL program allows for teachers and community artists to collaborate and co-plan a unit with the aim of teaching the traditional ‘core subjects’ (i.e. Math, Language and Science), using the arts as a learning vehicle.
2016-2017 school year allowed almost 1000 students from 12 different schools
from every area of the district to participate in the program. These students
worked with painters, graphic artists, musicians, sculptors and dancers to
explore and demonstrate their learning. The 2017- 2018 school year has
projects running in 9 schools.
