Durham Student Transportation Services
(DSTS) was established by the Durham District School Board and the Durham Catholic District School Board in December 2005. The consortium manages and administers all home to school transportation, school-to-school transportation, and special needs transportation for approximately 28,000 eligible Durham students.
The DSTS website
brings together essential information about school bus transportation for students in the Durham District School Board and Durham Catholic District School Board, including transportation policies, carrier contact information, school bus safety tips, and more.
To access bussing information for your child, you will need two pieces of information:
• the student(s) nine digit number (you can find it on the student's report card, and the transportation card sent to all schools for distribution),
• the student(s) date of birth yyyy/mm/dd
As you would expect, the transportation department receives an extremely high volume of calls at the beginning of the school year. To gain quick access to your child's bussing details, we encourage you to take advantage of the automated phone line at 905-666-6979.
Special Education Requirements for Bussing
The Special Education Advisory Committee has been working with the Special Education department and the Transportation department to develop an information form which parents can complete in order to provide information to bus drivers regarding any special or additional requirements of students transported on busses to our Special Education programs. The goal of the form is to provide an opportunity for parents/guardians to communicate with the driver. If parents/guardians wish to complete the form
, they are requested to return it to the school at the start of the school year. The form will then be forwarded to the Transportation department and provided to the driver.
Thank you for your continued cooperation.
