School Community Council

Come join us for our first SCC Meeting of the year.  We will meet in the Library on Thursday September 14 at 6:30pm.  Nomination forms will be sent home for our election of positions.  Come out and get involved in school events and activties that support our students and the school.  Any time you can volunteer would be truly appreciated.

We will plan to meet on the second Thursday of the month.

The purpose of an SCC is, through active participation of parents, to improve pupil achievement and enhance the accountability of the education system to parents. This purpose is achieved through making recommendations to the principal of the school. An SCC is comprised of parents, a member of the school's teaching staff, a member of the school's non-teaching staff , the principal and an appointed community member. The SCC must meet a minimum of four times a year. Usually meetings are scheduled monthly. ALL parents are welcome to attend SCC meetings; however, only elected members of the council may vote.
The executive is comprised of a chairperson ( or co-chairs), vice-chair, secretary and treasurer as well as any other officer established by the council through the by-laws.
