Learn English - Enhanced Language Training (ELT)

Enhanced Language Training (ELT) Program Information

The ELT program provides eight weeks of advanced English classes for internationally trained professionals plus an additional eight weeks for the participants to gain Canadian work experience through our unpaid internship/mentorship.
The ELT program helps participants upgrade their English language and employability skills as well as competitiveness in the labour market.
Participants will focus on general business communication skills, networking and professionalism in the Canadian workforce.
Classes will help participants with their job search, interview skills, cultural and workplace issues.
Classes are available in Oshawa and Pickering.

This program is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and delivered tuition free to eligible adults.

Each student must complete a Criminal Information request, at their own expense (approximately $20.00), and may also be required to complete a Medical Clearance.

Assistance with childcare and transportation is available for eligible participants.

Karen's Story:

I am pleased to share my story that occurred within 9 months of my arrival to Canada. I just received from my Manager, my confirmation letter for the position of Maintenance Supervisor at Nestle. It's a permanent full job position.

I'm really happy; it's the most wonderful thing that happens to me here in Canada, and it's thanks to you.  I am lacking words to express my gratitude. All I can tell you is that you did a great job, and I encourage you to continue in the same ways.  For my part, I will do my best to deserve all that you have done for me, by continuing to put into practice all the teachings I received from you.
