· Structure
· Routines
· Parent-child connections
· Nurturing relationships
· Powerful identity (i.e. to know what is the best thing about them)
· Sense of control
· Sense of belonging, culture, spirituality, life purpose
· Fair and just treatment
· Physical and psychological safety
 
 
KEYS TO SUCCESS
· Have a family routine
· Have family time
· Be aware of influence of social media, instant news cycle
· Practice visualization with a calming place or event (e.g. family trip, special place)
· Practice deep breathing
· Teach kids what stress feels like
· Get adequate rest and healthy meals
· Adults model healthy body image and relationships and understand their own stress
