Business and Technology Information Services

The Business department develops and implements the budget and financial plan and provides leadership for the effective use of Board resources. The Superintendent is responsible for occupational health and safety, payroll, purchasing, community use of schools and information technology.

Early Years and Child Care

Early years represents the first years of a child's life, up to age 6. It has been shown that high quality, licensed child care and early years programs support the development of cognitive and social skills at this time, and enhance school readiness that helps children achieve later school success.

Facilities Services

Facilities Services includes custodial services, energy and mechanical design services, waste reduction and energy conservation, and property and planning services. They are responsible for the total physical aspects of all DDSB buildings and properties.


Human Resource Services

Human Resource Services directs all staff recruitment and hiring for approved positions. This includes occasional and supply teaching staff for schools. They also handle labour relations including the renewal and maintenance of all collective agreements.

Inclusive Student Services

DDSB is committed to special education and offering parents and students a range of placement options.




Operations is responsible for all system-wide operating procedures including allocation of resources for day-to-day operations and leadership development.


Student Achievement

Student Achievement is responsible for coordinating curriculum for all students. This includes coordinating report cards, board-wide testing and provincial tests.
