Mental Health and Addictions Strategic Plan

The Durham District School Board developed the Mental Health and Addictions Strategic Plan based on the belief that good physical and mental health is an important foundation for student achievement. This is also true for student and staff well-being.

The 5-year plan identifies 5 links of influence:

  1. Building resiliency
  2. Breaking down the stigma
  3. Building skills and knowledge
  4. Engaging parents/guardians and families
  5. Working collaboratively with community partners

The plan identifies good mental health as a priority, and embarks on a number of initiatives to achieve this for students and staff.
