1.0 The Board accepts the principle that the preferred location for any school site is in conjunction with active parklands or other educational facilities.

1.1 The Board further accepts the principle that Elementary School sites (K-8) should be centrally located in the neighbourhood served. The Board will endeavour to acquire sites for K-8 schools at the time of processing subdivision applications.

1.2 Future school sites should be provided in accordance with (a) future planned enrolment, (b) specific site conditions, e.g. usable land areas, (c) such other conditions as the Director or Designate may deem relevant:

1.3 The school site size may be reduced, in accordance with municipal joint use agreements, if the site is adjacent to active parkland and the consent of the concerned municipal corporation is granted, as per the joint use agreement.
