Renting School Spaces

Durham District School Board schools are public buildings. They are available for public use after regular school hours. To book a space, you will need a permit. You will be responsible to adhere to the rules, regulations and cancellation information as well as all policies, and procedures, maintenance and cleaning standards.

Commercial and non-profit rentals

Both commercial and non-profit organizations can book school spaces. We are able to give non-profit groups a reduced rental rate.

A non-profit is a local group or organization which is supported in whole or in part by government funds, or is a registered charitable organization under the Income Tax Act, and where the function is open to the public. This includes all religious, cultural, community service organizations, amateur sports organizations, citizens' groups and recognized political organizations.

Please watch the instructional video before making a permit request to book space.

Renewal status from previous years will not be recognized. Priority will be given to children's programs, as detailed in section 5.4.3 of our updated Policy. We have also updated our Procedure.
