1.0 The Director or designate, in retaining an architect, engineer or real estate agent or appraiser under the 
authority granted by the Architectural, Engineering & Real Estate Fees Policy, will not incur any financial
obligation beyond the cost for the assigned investigation or commit the Board to any future commission in
respect to the project.

1.1 The Director is authorized to expend funds to obtain information concerning:

• • proposed site purchases
  • electrical, mechanical, structural and safety information in respect to proposed maintenance projects
  • property appraisals
  • soil tests
  • environmental surveys
  • boundary surveys and topographical surveys
  • proposed additions and renovations to existing buildings involving special circumstances
