Code of Conduct, and Discipline for Students Policy
Positive School Climates, Mental Health & Well-Being
It is the policy of the Durham District School Board to support practices that promote a safe, inclusive, and accepting school climate in all schools.
Appropriate discipline practices acknowledge the responsibility of individuals to exercise self-discipline, self-regulation and the right of individuals to equitable and fair treatment.
There will be appropriate consequences based on Bias-Aware Progressive Discipline for unacceptable student conduct as defined in Board regulation and procedure, and in school Codes of Conduct.
In the event of a serious incident, school staff will work in partnership with the school community and emergency services in order to ensure the safety of all parties.
