The Durham District School Board is committed to making schools healthier places for students in order to establish the conditions needed to realize the potential of all students. A healthy school environment enhances students' social, physical, and emotional well-being while improving student achievement.

The Durham District School Board requires that all food and beverages sold on school premises to students for school purposes meet the nutrition standards set by the Ministry of Education, as expected of all schools in the Province of Ontario.

All Durham District School Board employees, parents, students, and community members are encouraged to support, foster and demonstrate healthy eating by adhering to the spirit of these nutritional standards.
