Transportation (Pupil) Regulation

To establish the authority of Durham Student Transportation Services to act as the Board’s agent with respect to the provision of transportation services to students of the Durham District School Board.

2.1 The Board shall recognize the Ministry of Education requirement for the provision of safe, effective and efficient student transportation services through a consortia delivery model.

2.2 The Board shall recognize Durham Student Transportation Services, a consortium established jointly by the Durham Catholic School Board and the Durham District School Board, as its agent for the provision of student transportation services.

2.3 Durham Student Transportation Services shall provide transportation services to Board pupils in accordance with policies as approved and amended by the Board.

3.1 The Director of Education or designate will ensure that the structure of and operating agreements with Durham Student Transportation Services satisfy the requirements of the Ministry of Education.

3.2 The Chief Administrative Officer of Durham Student Transportation Services, reporting to the Durham Student Transportation Services Governance Committee, shall ensure that transportation services are provided to Board students in the most effective and efficient manner possible, respecting Board policies, and in accordance with procedures developed in collaboration with the Durham District School Board and approved by the Durham Student Transportation Services Governance Committee.
