Notice Regarding Student COVID-19 Immunization Information

The Ministry of Education has advised that as requested by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, local public health units (PHUs) will soon begin assessing COVID-19 immunization information for eligible students (i.e., individuals born in 2009 or earlier) to support case, contact, and outbreak management in schools.

These immunization records are being disclosed to local PHUs under Section 39(2)(a) of the Personal Health Information and Privacy Act (PHIPA) as a disclosure that is made for the purposes of the Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA).
