Signing Out Board Property Procedure

1.0 The following procedure is to be followed when Board property valued in excess of $200.00 is to be used off premises for an employee's personal use.

1.1 All Schools

    1. The Principal/Vice-Principal will authorize any removal of Board property for personal use.
    2. A record of all authorizationswill be maintained in the school office.
    3. The following information should accompany any authorization:
      • date borrowed
      • identification of property
      • value and condition of itemborrowed
      • signature of borrower
      • signature of authorization (Principal/Vice-Principal)
      • date returned
      • condition of item returned
      • signature of person receiving returned property

1.2 All Board Offices

    1. The Manager/designate will authorize any removal of Board property for personal use.
    2. A record of all authorizations will be maintained at the location that equipment normally is located.
    3. The following information should accompany any authorization:
      • date borrowed
      • identification of property
      • value and condition of itemborrowed
      • signature of borrower
      • signature of authorization (Manager/designate)
      • date returned
      • condition of item returned
      • signature of person receiving returned property

NOTE: CUSTODIAL EQUIPMENT MAY NOT BE BORROWED FOR PERSONAL USE AT ANY TIME.
LARGE SCALE, MOTORIZED OR SPECIALTY EQUIPMENT THAT REQUIRES TRAINING FOR SAFE OPERATION MAY NOT BE BORROWED AT ANY TIME
