Partnership Agreements
Durham District School Board (DDSB) is committed to promoting effective community-based partnerships. Our partnerships help foster continuous improvement in the delivery of programs and services for all students, including students with special needs.
DDSB supports, encourages, and facilitates the development of partnership between the board, or our schools, and the larger community. The primary focus of partnerships are to support educational programming, honour the authentic voice of our community and enhance the quality and relevance of learning for our students.
Protocol for external partnerships
The Ministry of Education's PPM 149 - Protocol for Partnerships with External Agencies for Provision of Services by Regulated Health Care Professional, Regulated Social Services Professional and Paraprofessional - guides us in the creation of our protocols designed to support our Board's capacity to provide programs and services for all students.
We must ensure that the protocol is consistent with standard school board provisions related to:
- informed consent;
- criminal reference checks;
- appropriate insurance coverage;
- compliance with The Safe Schools Act;
- conflict of interest;
- confidentiality;
- equity;
- human rights; and
- relevant policies.
