Provincial Report Card

The Durham District School Board (DDSB) is required by the Ministry of Education to provide a fall checklist progress report for elementary students. Any changes to reporting align with the Ministry's Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting Ontario Schools document.

Elementary school student progress reports

In elementary schools, the first report sent home is a progress report. This report will help you understand your child's growth in learning skills and work habits. Teachers indicate a student's progress with respect to curriculum expectations in the first months of school in one of three categories.

Progressing with difficulty

Evidence gathered to date indicates that the student will require improvement and planned next steps to meet the provincial standard at the end of the term/year.

Progressing well

Evidence gathered to date indicates ongoing, consistent improvement toward meeting the provincial standard at the end of the term/year.

Progressing very well

Evidence gathered to date indicates ongoing, consistent improvement toward meeting and exceeding the provincial standard at the end of the term/year.
