Whole School Approach

Durham District School Board (DDSB) takes a Whole School Approach to the Positive School Climates initiative. This approach helps to create a positive school climate in which all stakeholders feel and are welcome, safe and valued.

All aspects of school life are included in a Whole School Approach, such as curriculum, culture, teaching practices, policies and procedures. To create a cultural change in schools, it is necessary that adults in the school and wider community develop awareness and understanding of behaviour issues in their school.
